End-of-support for Credit Card Transactions within Newsys CMS

Effective: August 1, 2015

Due to Internet security standards, TownNews.com customers using our legacy Newsys Content Management System (Newsys CMS) payment handlers (typically used by Newsys Ad-Owl) and/or Newsys Subscription Management System, will no longer have the ability to accept credit card information, effective August 1, 2015.

Websites using Newsys CMS have several options:

1. Upgrade to TownNews.com's next-generation platform, BLOX Content Management System (BLOX CMS).

2. Discontinue using credit cards for all web transactions.

3. Take online orders via standard web forms with no credit card processing. In this scenario, the site owner would contact the customer directly via phone to collect payment information and complete the transaction.

Customers processing credit card transactions on Newsys CMS should contact their TownNews.com sales representative immediately to begin the process of migrating to one of the above-listed options.

Customers using legacy Newsys CMS products in combination with BLOX CMS should contact their TownNews.com sales representative immediately to begin the process of migrating to solutions that are fully hosted on BLOX CMS. We require a formal request in the form of a ticket and/or contract for all migrations by August 1, 2015 to ensure a successful migration by the December 2015 deadline.

TownNews.com will continue to provide technical support to BLOX CMS customers using these Newsys CMS integrations until 12/31/2015. After 12/31/2015, they will no longer be supported and will be permanently disabled.
